| Name: | Kristy the Gnome |
|---|---|
| Birthdate: | 1985-05-10 |
| Location: | Boston, Massachusetts, United States |
Once upon a time, Kristy had an LJ.
(Actually, she had a few LJs over the course of several years, but that makes the story too complicated for the internet.)
She was a very prolific LJer sometimes posting several times a day.
One day Kristy woke up and realized that she was old. She was engaged. She was thinking serious thoughts. So she decided that it was time to grow up and get serious and responsible before she got married. Grown-ups don't use LJ, she said, so she shut her LJ down and got a "real blog."
But Kristy was lonely with her blog, and it didn't take very long for her to realize that grown-ups have no fun. All of the things that she couldn't wait to be a grown-up to do like staying up late all the time and going on road trips and buying frivolous things like pickles were things that grown-ups just didn't do. On top of it all, she missed all the friends she had on LJ.
One day not long ago, Kristy decided that she had enough of being grown up. She curled up into a little ball and went to sleep. When she woke up, she was a gnome!
"Ah-ha!" Kristy said.
(Because protagonists always say, "Ah-hah!" ... At least in Winnie the Pooh.)
"Of course! I should have known this all the time! I'm not a grown up. I'm not even 25!"
(If I still have to be called a kid, there should be some benefits, too, right?)
With the flick of a wrist
and a point and a click
she closed up her blog--
back to LJ, and quick!
